Off the coast of northern Vietnam in the Gulf of Tonkin, lies the hauntingly beautiful Halong Bay. It features thousands of limestone karsts and isles in various sizes and shapes that jut upward from the sea. The core of this area has a high density of about 775 islets and the limestone in the bay has gone through 500 million years of formation.
We took a boat tour of Halong Bay and stopped in to explore Dong Thien Cung, or “Heavenly Grotto”, one of the many fantastic caves that tunnel inside the islets.
“A picture”, as they say, “is worth a thousand words”….
I would have not guessed those pictures to be Vietnam! Thanks for sharing.
